You know, this is going to sound very weird I'm sure, but I encountered such a problem in a dream once.
About a month ago I dreampt that I got sucked into the world of Sarah Ellerton's art (yeah, I know I read this stuff too much). After spending a good deal of time slashing ash zombies in Phoenix requiem world, I walked through a doorway and wound up in a shower. Being understandably confused, I was looking around the room for a towel when I spotted a mirror, and- "HOLY NUDEASIANGUY I'M IN DREAMLESS WORLD NOW! -slipped, bonked my -er- Takashi's head, lost consciousness and woke up as Elanor, screamed, fainted, and woke up in real life... as myself.
It was very random.

You have to remember though, he's lived with this his whole life. To him there's nothing akward about her seeing him naked or vice versa, they know each-other's bodies and minds just as well as they know their own.

I don't think so, because, remember, they grew up watching eachother get clean. I think that nakedness is no longer an issue with them because they are so used to it that they don't even notice.

If you think about it. They grew up "together" so it would probably be completely natural? Once puberty hit it might have caused some discomfort but due to the shared thoughts I would imagine it wouldn't be that much.

@Name: I disagree. These people obviously share a bond that is beyond even what most people call "true love". I think if there were a word for a relationship that is both sibling and lover but still greater than both, that would be the word to apply to them. Seeing each other naked and exposed is probably nothing and everything to them.
If anything, the nature of their relationship is more awkward than that.

I just want to say again how truly wonderful the artwork is in this comic. Sarah, the level of research you must do to get the period details right blows my mind. Plus, I keep staring at the two panels of him in the shower. They just look so RIGHT, without looking at all photographic.
Someone named Brainfart made some remarks last night on last week's page that I want to take exception to. "Whiny, emo, self-absorbed b!tch" you called her. I suppose, if you line her up with "normal" girls you might have a case of sorts - but I don't think you can judge her mind by normal standards. It would be a fascinating case study for a phychologist, probably, to evaluate how sharing her entire life with Takashi would warp the way she reacts to the world around her. Issues like modesty, privacy, honesty, loneliness -- every one of them filtered through the knowledge that she has a permanent "life partner" that she'll see as soon as she falls asleep.
Of course she's "self-absorbed"... she doesn't NEED other people. Truthfully, she's "Takashi-absorbed," except for the growing desire to be with him. Emo? Because she feels a need verging on compulsion that she CAN'T FULFILL? She's just now 18, and only now legally able to do what she wants -- except this is 1941 and 18-year-old girls without any money don't just fly off to Japan - especially given the political climate around her.
Personally, I think she's done a pretty good job of keeping it together all this time. This is, after all, the FIRST TIME we've actually seen her break down and lose it over their situation. She's a teen-ager, angst sorta comes with the territory ;) So, she's in a deep depression, someone knocks on the door and, by his uniform, it's obviously about her dad, so she gives him the only answer she has and turns away. Why should she be expected to do more?

Heheh, just had a silly reading experience. I haven't caught up to this series for months or something, and there's no archive page, so I was trying not to read the pages while flipping back, but sort of did XD ; ...and thought that someone said it ended here, and on the page before it 'he's dead.' And I was all O: Takashi's a ghost! Luckily it wasn't ended so fast.

Is it me or does Takashi never seem to appear happy? Which, actually, is pretty accurate as WW2-era Japan was still very conservative and outward displays of emotion were greatly discouraged. But Sarah has a talent for period, as I'm sure we all can recognize.
